Date of Birth Certificate

Hi All,

I am in process of applying for my PR. At last I noticed that date of birth certificate is mandatory which I don't have.

As of now I am in Canada, if I get the birth certificate from India Consulate office will it serve the purpose.

Please guide me.

If u do not have birth certificate nor able to arrange it, no big issue. Your other docs can serve the purpose like Educational certificates where DOB is appearing. Just write an explanation letter to VO for reasons as to why u r not able to submit the DOB certificate.

I am not clear about Indian system. In case of Bangladesh, its possible to collect in absence of applicant. Just write an authorization letter duly signed to your family member, he can collect your Birth Certificate on behalf of you. Don't forget to attach docs like SSC certificate, NID covering your DOB. Hope it will work.

Documentation proving birth must be consistent with what is issued in your country. For example, a secondary leaving certificate, or a national identification card, sometimes in conjunction with a sworn affidavit of your place and time of birth, can be acceptable.
All valid documentation must contain your name, your date of birth, and at least one of your parent's names.

Its not do or die that you should possess every type of documents as stated by CIO.
But its must do that you should collect maximum related documents which can serve purpose in absence of specific doument.
Dont forget to top up with cover letter explaining why are you not able to produce that specific documents and why are you sending related documents.

Its not the Problem that ruin your life rather its not having Right Solution on Right Time.

Hi

IF you have record in India of your birth, its advisable to get it.

If you dont have it, you can do the following, that I remember someone posted some days back for Indian BC, dont remember everything, but, some of it is below...

Get a letter from Office that you dont have any record in their registers, for birth.
Get an Affidavit from Parents that your DOB is so and so, and, they didnt register birth as it was not done commonly in those days.
Get everything Notarized.
Attach your Certificates of 10th Grade, that show your DOB.
Attach copy of Passport, showing your DOB.
A COVER LETTER explaining everything above.
