Hello

I am currently on a open work permit which is dues to expiry end of the month :(

But my problem is that great I can apply for the CEC PR as I would have the 1 year work experience but I would also like to apply for my Bridge permit so that i can still continue to live and work here. Would I be able to still apply for my bridge permit even tho I wont of been sent my AOR as it takes a couple of months for it to come in which my current visa would of ran out so not sure that I can still apply for the bridge!!!
Oh im confused as to what to do - Please help??

You need AOR to apply for Bridging Open Work Permit. You are not eligible to apply if you do not have your AOR.

Pretty unlucky dude. Sorry.

You need CEC AOR before you can put in the application for BOWP.

Your only hope is this...

If your current employer is willing to apply for an LMO for you, they can do this without having to publicly advertise your position as this isn't required for PGWP holders. However, they would need to get this in process ASAP - like this week! This would potentially allow you to stay.

Good luck.

Apply for BOWP anyway (along with a cover letter explaining your situation), as that way you'll be under implied status for solid 2 months, and in the meantime you MIGHT receive your AOR that you can then forward to the CPC. It's a long shot, but I don't see what you have to lose in this situation.

I second winter loves opinion... what he said is right.. apply for ur bowp anyway and ur situation is totally solvable ...its not ur fault... just write a cover letter explaining ur case and stay on a 2 months implied status ...
If ur dicey and do not want to apply for bowp... just apply for a visitors visa ..but this case u wud not be able to work anymore.

Thank you for your advice.
Another question - when I apply for my CEC would I then not be on implied status?

No, applying for CEC does not put you on Implied Status unfortunately, or BOWP would be pretty pointless.
Are you on an IEC visa? Have your tried applying for a second year?
Hopefully, you'll find a way around this situation.

Yes i am on the IEC but I can't do the 2rd year as I am now over 30yrs with British Passport :(
