Dakar 2016 Applicants

We finally received PPR today. We provided the additional proof back in November 2016. It took them over 3 months to get back to us.

Question for Dakar resident: did you send your passport via courier or did you hand deliver it?

Congratulations Diorlat! Great news! Just as Carla said, I think you have to follow the instructions in the email sent to you. You would think Dakar could give those resident in the city the option to drop off their passport but to the best of my knowledge they don't.

On December 5th, 2016 we submitted our permanent landing fee (arrived in Mississauga December 8th) as well as our removal costs and ARC processing fee which we promptly submitted to Dakar.

This week we received the following email from Dakar:

"Dear applicant,

We have well received the results of your RCMP fingerprinting.

Thank you to note that we have still awaiting the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF), the letter of authorization to return to Canada and the fees.

Regards,"

To say the least - I was livid. It's nearly 3 months after we submitted all information and payment and they are saying they received nothing. I re-sent all our receipts as well as our ARC letter and then emailed our MP again regarding the situation…she told me that she called an IRCC officer who is inquiring into the situation but it could be 5-10 business days before hearing back.

Did Dakar "lose" anyone else's payments?

I don't think so but even if they do. You still have the receipt and can will always provide proof

That's not right; they shouldn't keep people's passport that long. what if they need it for some reason.

If you know to travel urgently, you can request for your passport. But if they still haven't process your visa, it will get delayed very much after you re-submit it again.
