Dads visitor visa refused for 2nd time for same reason.
documents provided:
1. invite letter-mentioning start date and end date of travel (4 weeks) notarized by lawyer
2. mentioned purpose of travel in the invite letter
3. showed $9000 CAD as funds from host side
3. Dads property documents
4. dads bank documents ( 5 lakhs INR), fixed deposits
5. pension letter
6. income tax documents
7. host company letter and pay slips and passport
8. my moms bank statement, NOC and passport and her Canadian Visa
9. my company letter with salary and passport

both time rejected reasons were:
1. purpose of travel
2. host has insufficient funds
3. insufficient funds from Dads side

my dad has got his new passport in June 2016 and has not travelled anywhere.
please suggest

Maybe you can make an itinerary with everything you want to do/visit while he is here. If he wants to come for a month, make a day by day itinerary, with costs.
Example:

Day 1 - Resting at home after traveling - no extra cost
Day 2- Visit to X museum - 20$ per person
Day 3- Visit Aunt Muriel in X town - 15$ gas
And so on...

It might seem weird, but it will show a clearer picture of what you want to do and how much it's going to cost (either you or your Dad)

The gcms notes will show you exactly what their issue was with your application. So you will know more specifically what to address if you wish to reapply again.

The itinerary just makes it more clear how much this visit will cost, and that you have enough money to cover it. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, we did in our application and it was successful. And had less funds than you. Sometimes it's all about how you present your case..

Hi Sindhu,

1. Was the money in your dad's bank account his own/borrowed?

2. Is the bank account owned solely by him or joint with your mom?

3. Were the FDs made recently for the purpose of his visa app?

4. Same for his property ownership as Point 3?

Cheers

Hi Sindhu,

1. Does your dad own any joint bank account with your mom?

2. Similarly for any FDs or other financial investments?

3. You'll have to explain the source of the money for the FDs

4. You must include letter(s) from the bank(s) stating that the FDs are not mortgaged/can be liquidated, if required.

5. Will your mom be traveling with your dad? If no, can she prove that she must remain for some reason?

6. Do the property ownership documents + the latest property tax receipt state your dad's name?

7. Does your dad need to return for renewing his pension? Or is he entitled to any other retirement benefits?

8. How long does your dad intend to visit?

9. Can he prove he must return by a specific date?

10. Does your dad live with any other immediate, dependent family..... for example, your grand parents or unmarried siblings?

My advice is to take your time and prepare a solid application with new evidence + stronger ties. Haste makes waste. Think things through properly

Cheers
