Currently under active review, please what does it mean?

I applied online for a study permit on the 11th of June.
Biometrics done June 13. Since then no update.
I sent a webform cos my normal processing time has exceeded on August 27th. I got a response yesterday morning via email. Please what does it mean?

I think this means they are still reviewing your application. Even though the normal processing time has been passed they are still assessing your eligibility or something.

You don't have to worry i guess.

I applied online for TRV on 19th July,2018 and left Biometrics on Aug.02,2018 from Stockholm Sweden for my Postdoc Fellow's visa. But still no response. Today I have emailed the Canadian High Commissioned VO, London have got following response.

We write in reply to your enquiry dated 28th October 2018.

Please note that your application for a visitor visa to Canada is currently under active review.

Every effort is being made to complete processing as quickly as possible.
You will be notified via your online account once a decision has been reached.

We trust this information is of assistance to you.

Not yet. Yesterday I also got response from VO london

My application is under the active review. It has been about 110 days still no response

Today I again contacted to VO London, they said that

Your application is currently still in active process and we are making every effort to complete processing as expeditiously as possible. As soon as processing is completed we will contact you.

If they respond it like that your close to get your visa

Thanks, Dear lets see because my joining date of my Postdoc has already passed which was on Nov.1st,2018. And I applied online on 19th July,2018, do not know still how long it will take to get decision?
