I just found out I’m pregnant, and my husband wants to stay with me until the baby is born.
However, I am PR status, and he only has a visitor visa, his entry date was 2019-Dec-23. And should be expired on 2020-June-23. Should he be applying for visitor record now in order to stay longer. Will it be another 6 months or less?

He should wait until May to apply for the extension. It's way too early to apply now.

Even if he hasn’t received approval on time, he can still stay in Canada until he receives?

Yes. You should really sponsor him if he plans on staying this long.

Just to add see the current processing time for an extension which is around 3.5 months so can stay all that time pending a decision..
