I will be going on vacations next week and will be out of the country. I am also expecting my ITA next week for which I need to submit the reference letter from my current employer. Is it advisable to get the reference letter from my employer before I leave or should I get it after I receive my ITA?

Does CIC accept letters that were issued before ITA?

Probably but what's the rush? Will you be submitting your application while you're on vacation?

Better to get the letter once you're about to submit all your documents since it's your current position.

Cheers :)

It shouldn't be a problem. As per Stanlee, preferably your letter should not be older than 6 months for your current employment

Yes, I will be submitting my application while I am on vacation. Since I will be out of the country, It will be harder to co-ordinate with my employer regarding my letter.

Yes, but note the date at the top of the letter is the "end date" they use to calculate the length of experience (if written while you are still employed), so be sure that you qualify before the letter is written...

End date means , like my first company was from 21-09-2009 to 25-02-2012 and I am planning to get the reference letter from my previous employer so here top of the corner/letter should I mention my last date I.e 25-02-2012 or next upcoming date like 28-11-2016 ( assume that I will get the letter on this date).

Confusion is that, will they provide letter on old date???
If date is upcoming week then is there any issue??

Please advise

What it means is that if 25-02-2012 is the date on which you will be completing your 52 weeks minimum or more (If more years calculated accordingly), then the date on that letter has to meet the requirement. They don't have to modify the letter. As long as you are more than the 52 week requirement, it should be fine.

25-02-2012 was my last day of the company and I worked that company almost 2.5 years means more than 52 weeks. Here my question is that next week I am planning to get reference letter from previous employer so what date should I mention on top of the letter??
(1) my last date that is 25-02-2012
(2) latest date on which I will get reference letter.

Note:- I am not suggesting about my change start and end date but just want to know about date of letter , which should mention on top corner on the letter

Please suggest

I didn't know you could go back to the past and get a later dated then. If you are using a time machine to do it please do lend it to me as well. :p

Yes. But you can also include your latest salary slips which shows that you are still working for that organization.

I dont think that by just looking at current employers date, they will judge anyone's number experience duration as the exact duration of employment for past and current employers is clearly mentioned in the letter.
