Hi people!
First of all, let me be thankful to this great community helping people out to have life-changing decisions. YOU ALL ARE GREAT!
I need some guidance as I am interested in changing my career as an international student in Canada.
a bit of my profile:
3 yr bachelors in business administration from home country
IELTS academic 8 bands overall. No component below 7.5
Strong financial profile.
I applied for study permit in November 2021. My course was 1 yr HR post-grad certificate starting in January 2022 with a 4 month Co-op in the end, a succession to my 3yr Business degree from back home.
My approved decision came late in March 2022 and by that time I had already received a deferred offer letter for same program beginning September 2022.
I came to Canada in August 2022, studied through the course.
Now, my course will complete in Aug 2023 but my study permit and Co-op permit was valid only till April 2023 (because of deferral to next term).
I applied for an extension and it got approved as well for the end of November 2023.
I am going to pursue another 1yr course for which I have paid the fees to college. My second course is Business Analytics. This is because I want to get a 3 yr PGWP and then hopefully, PR.
But I want to change my course to a skilled trades job. I want to become a CNC machinist. The diploma is available to anyone after grade 12 and admission requirements have been met for my profile. The reason for this change is better paying job and high demand for machinists; even pathways to PR.
I am about to get an offer letter for the program, and once again apply for study permit extension.
My question is: Will this application of study permit extension gets approved or could it get refused as my field and level of education is changing?
Thanks in advance!
