Well, after continuing to read the plight of Dralon and the hassle the few of us who are heading to Quebec have faced on top of the normal immigration stress, I contacted Buffalo to see if they'd received my CSQ seeing as it was sent to them in October 2010 from the MICC... as of this morning, they said hadn't gotten it. I e-mailed a copy of the scanned certificate and acceptance letter as soon as they responded, but really, is this a common error?
My husband just called the MICC and they said they had indeed mailed it on October 5, 2010, so this is looking really bad on Buffalo's part. Does anyone know if Buffalo needs time to process the CSQ, or does getting it months later (as opposed to the actual time Quebec mailed it to the visa office) have any negative effect? Is that something they quickly reference and make a note of to make sure the candidate was accepted and just move on from there? I hope it doesn't cause further delay, but it sounds like it will from what I've read from others.
I am so put out about the immigration process at this point -- especially with Buffalo. I've had friends immigrate to the US and they said the lack of communication that we are going through is unbelievable and something they never experienced during their US immigration process. I've accepted having wait to be with my hubby, it's incredibly hard but we'll survive, and we knew that it was the price we had to pay with the outland process... however, the apparent incompetence of the officials involved and being completely in the dark with what's going on and when it will be over is almost as bad, if not more taxing, than being apart.
