The fee is expensive (especially you have more than one applicant), but it looks pretty close to 20 business days to me.

March 5 to April 10 equals 36 days.
Subtract 10 weekend days, 26 days remain.
March 29 and April 1 are public holidays in Quebec, 24 days remain.
4 days for delivery by Canada Post, 20 business days processing.

I'd rather not have to pay extra for the CSQ, but compared with CIC, Quebec is super efficient and predictable, and is consistently very close to the promised processing times.

Exactly!

Hey folks,

Its been over 20 processing days since i submitted my application.
I submitted on 25th march. they receieved on 26th march.

Charged my credit card on 9th april.
Excluding mar 29 holiday , apr 23 was 20 business days.
So i called up yesterday 24th april and a nice lady from MICC says 20 business days from the day they opened my file (april 8 and not from the day they receieved the file.)

Is this normal? I am worried this CSQ is going to delay my VO processing the file.
My vo had already requested passport and got it too..

Please any thoughts

New CSQ as Family class after I already have a skilled worker CSQ

Hello All :D

On May 1 Canada requested a Family Class CSQ saying I needed a new one as my PR application is Spouse sponsorship. I sent my app for second CSQ on the 2nd it was Received on the 3rd of May and no CC charge just yet.

Has anyone been in the scenario of changing the CSQ to Family Class from Skilled Worker?
I'm curious if it will be immediate or the 20 business days. In the final weeks now I hope. They also requested RCMP fingerprints on the 3rd of May.

God willing we all hear good news quickly.

Best of luck to everyone!

Haven't seen that - I'd guess it would take 20 days, but you might get lucky - MICC is a lot faster than CIC!

I recently applied end of march 2013.
It took for them 24 business days to approve (based on approval date)
and 37 calendar days for me having the CSQ in mail

Thank you for your information! Hoping to hear news soon. :-)

I agree that MICC is faster than CIC !! It takes about 20 business days to issue the CSQ and send by mail. For the CIC to make decision took 4,5 years !!!

Does anyone know if it delays in one more month the application?

It shouldn't delay the application at all if you apply right after receiving your sponsorship approval. Send your CSQ application with your sponsor approval letter to MICC, and in about 20 working days after MICC receives the application, MICC will issue your CSQ and mail it to you. Meanwhile, your application is transferred to the visa office, so you get a spot in the queue just like applications for other provinces, so the MICC processing happens in parallel with your spot in the queue moving forward.

One thing you can do to avoid CSQ-related delays is to scan a copy of your CSQ when you receive it and email it to your visa office. Even though MICC is supposed to send a copy to your visa office, and your visa office is supposed to match it with your file, if those things don't happen, then your visa office will have to request a copy from you, and that will create a delay for you of a month or two. It won't hurt your application if your visa office receives a copy of the CSQ from you and a copy from MICC.

Hope this was helpful - good luck!

I sent SA to MICC on May 2 and they Received on May 3.

They charged my credit card on May 17 and I hope to have my CSQ before the end of this week.

This is my timeline from MICC so far

Do you know if MICC send the CSQ by email to our visa office or they use regular mail to send ?

I might send my CSQ to my visa office when I'll get it by email, cause I heard stories where MICC never sent the CSQ to the visa office and people were waiting on both side. Scary !

I don't know how they send it, but for you to email it is definitely a good idea.
