Hi,

I received my husband's CSQ. I sent him a scanned copy via email. Does he need the original for immigration at the airport?

Thanks for you help.

Not sure. If it's not a high cost to courier it to him, it's probably worth doing, just in case.

On another note, just a reminder that the CSQ spreadsheet is open - feel free to input your information (the link is in my signature).

Thanks :)

I'll try to get in touch with the MICC and post the response I get.

I have added myself to the spreadsheet...we're a small group!

As I will be passing through this soon when U would have applied I got a question, How do you calculate the fees when you have dependent child of 2 years old. Does she count as extra member for undertaking ? or it is included with the wife ?

Thanks for help :)

Your husband will need the original CSQ. It is an official document same way as a passport or a Visa. So yes, you would have to send your husband the CSQ. I know this document is just another way for Quebec to make money. But hey, they made it official so everyone immigrating to QUebec needs to show it at the border. Sucks for us :D

There is an initial fee and an additional for each person:
Got this from the website (http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/forms/search-title/undertaking-application/kit-a.html)

1st person - $ 266
2nd person - $ 373
3rd person - $ 480

Each additional person is another $107

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/sponsorship/checklist.pdf

All the info on what needs to be submitted is on the website. Please note that some forms MUST be submitted in French ONLY. The English versions will not be accepted. I submitted everything in French just to be on the safe side.

I think the spreadsheet has only a few entries because Quebec pretty consistently returns CSQs in about a month - it's not like the VOs, which can take a year or more and are very inconsistent. CIC could learn a thing or two from Quebec!

My wife and I sent the undertaking application on feb 7th, MICC recieved it on Feb 9th. As of today, March 5th, we're still waiting to get the CSQ. Reading others timeline for the CSQ, I think we might be 1 week to go?

Hello guys count me in, we just sent our Undertaking yesterday March 04. Hoping it'll be approved asap. :)

After receiving the CSQ (35days), I've been insisting with husband that I need the original certificate (as what I've read in this forum) but my husband was not convince. He told me he will call the MICC to confirm about it. So after he called the MICC he told me that MICC confirms that I don't need the original. (But I'm still doubtful but couldn't insists on my husband) ;D

Mrs had you called MICC about it ? What did they said ?

My family's CSQ came with a letter that said (in bold typeface): "Care must be taken not to misplace the original copy of this certificate, as you will be required to produce it in order to receive various Quebec Government services."

The accompanying letter in French said the same thing (also in bold). It was the only bold text on the page, so it's safe to assume Quebec thinks that having the original is important.

Hi guys,

I have got my AOR from CIC. once i get my SA, i will send MICC for CSQ. Started to prepare document checklist for CSQ.
Can you guys give a hint of checklist other than the letter from CIC .

Good luck for all CSQ's ..

Thanks,
Mickey

When I landed as a skilled immigrant in Quebec 3 years back at the airport they asked me for the CSQ and the immigration officer put date on it and signed it. So I think it is necessary to have the original CSQ if you land in Quebec

Also it is clearly indicated in the application guide that you must send it to the sponsored person, your husband is wrong tell him to read he guide and send you the CSQ here is the link and extract Page 21:

Decision rendered by the MICC
One of three decisions will be rendered after your application is examined.
Undertaking approved
If your undertaking application is approved, you will receive a letter in the mail confirming its
acceptance, a copy of the approved application, and an envelope containing the Québec
Selection Certificate which you must send to the person you are sponsoring.

Hi all,

I sent the CSQ to my husband. Also, my friend's husband landed from Ethipoia and he had the original with him.

Please ask your husband to send it to you. Better safe than sorry!

MICC recieved our undertaking as per tracking March 05, 2013. But no AOR from them yet.
