Here's a question: does an address change somehow slow down the application? We're thinking of moving into a larger apartment, but I suddenly got worried that maybe that would somehow slow the application down? We are also thinking of getting married but likewise, I am wondering if that would somehow slow the application down?

Changing your address wouldn't (unless they were about to send a document) but marrying might as they'd have to change the category you are applying under. Not that it's a bad thing, as technically a married application requires less proof (unless you are from a high visa-fraud country) so it might end up taking less time if they don't have to evaluate your common-law proof.

Ok thanks! Good to hear the address change wouldn't slow it down! We are expecting a baby and want to move to something bigger before the baby's born, but I am hoping that the application will be (knock on wood) approved before the baby's born (so didn't want to extend the process) And for marriage, we'll probably wait until after the baby is born too (so that I can fit into a nice dress ) and we are not in a rush (we even wrote in our relationship letter that we want to get married once we have children) so probably we'll just wait with that. We're a Canadian-Polish common law couple, and as far as I know no increased fraud risk is attached to such unions (?)
