Here's a question: does an address change somehow slow down the application? We're thinking of moving into a larger apartment, but I suddenly got worried that maybe that would somehow slow the application down? We are also thinking of getting married but likewise, I am wondering if that would somehow slow the application down?

Changing your address wouldn't (unless they were about to send a document) but marrying might as they'd have to change the category you are applying under. Not that it's a bad thing, as technically a married application requires less proof (unless you are from a high visa-fraud country) so it might end up taking less time if they don't have to evaluate your common-law proof.

Ok thanks! Good to hear the address change wouldn't slow it down! We are expecting a baby and want to move to something bigger before the baby's born, but I am hoping that the application will be (knock on wood) approved before the baby's born ;) (so didn't want to extend the process) And for marriage, we'll probably wait until after the baby is born too (so that I can fit into a nice dress ;) ) and we are not in a rush (we even wrote in our relationship letter that we want to get married once we have children) so probably we'll just wait with that. We're a Canadian-Polish common law couple, and as far as I know no increased fraud risk is attached to such unions (?)
