CRS Ranking ignores multiple degrees & work experience!

Hi All,

I have applied for the PR a few days ago, and honestly was super surprised to see that the CRS Ranking scores that I had calculated earlier using the CRS Calculator was drastically different than what myCIC projected on my profile. There is close to 200 points of difference and am at a loss to understand why such a huge difference exists. Specifically, my skills transferability - education and foreign work experience scores as well as job offer scores are either subpar or not reflected at all. Can you please advise if there is something specifically wrong in what I have filled out in these sections?

Here's a brief profile overview:
Age: 38
Education: MBA in Canada, MS from USA, Bachelor of Engineering from India
Number of years of experience: more than 8 - Software Engineering, Test Automation Team Lead, Test Manager
Employment in Canada: Currently employed as a QA Manager in Toronto

CELPIP Scores: Reading - 12; Listening - 12, Writing - 9 and Speaking - 7 (This was a major disappointment)

The total profile scores is adding up to 392 only.

Criteria Score
CRS - Human Capital - Age 61
CRS - Human Capital - Level of Education 135
CRS - Human Capital - First Official Language Proficiency 116

CRS - Skill Transferability - Education 25
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience 25

CRS - Canadian education 30

The CRS Calculator adds 100 points to my profile for skills transferability, and canadian job offer which is not being reflected in the myCIC scores. Why is this so?

What about your Canadian work experience points other than skills transferability points ?

The points I've posted are all that have been awarded. My Canadian work experience points are 0. I have about 7 months of business strategy and development internship during my MBA and I started working in Toronto since May - as Sr. QA Analyst for one month and got promoted to QA Manager in June itself. But no points awarded for anything.

Unfortunately, Internship during Canadian education will not be counted as work exp

Since you have started working in May you will gain points for Canadian work exp(1 year) by May 2019

Fair enough. I've not entered my internship. But my friends who have had only a bachelors degree have 50 points for skill transferability - both education and foreign work experience. And their work experience is far less than mine. What is the criteria that though all of my experience has been relevant yet I get half of the points that's usually awarded?!

The 50 points for education and Foreign Work Exp has a rider of :
“Points for CLB 9 or more on all four first official language abilities”

Points for foreign work experience + CLB 9 or more on all four first official language abilities

If you can attempt to give a IELTS test (have heard that it is the easiest one to score maximum points on) and score CLB 9 on all for aspects of the test you will be eligible to claim these 50 extra points

Having a job is not the same thing as having a valid job offer. Are you on a BOWP? If so, you would need to obtain an LMIA to have a valid job offer.
