As the title suggests, is it possible to cross the border form Canada > US by road when on B-2 tourise/visitor visa just for the purpose of shopping?

Yeah, I've done it. Also simply declared to CBP that I was shopping. Asked which mall I intended to go to.
For day trips, there is no duty-free allowance back into Canada. But I never really spent and declared over $200 each time, so CBSA never bothered to tax me (so far).
