Criminal Record Check

Hello,

I’m sponsoring my husband who is living in Ontario with me, but his visitor visa is expired. Can anyone tell me if he needs a Canadian criminal record check, and if so, can he still get one even though he doesn’t have status here?

Yes he can but I would advise you to get the sponsorship application in before u do any criminality check jus send in a explanation letter as to when u can send do it , and wait on they request for it, if he do a criminality check in Canada they will know that he's here without status and maybe show up at your door so it best to get your application in first
