Hi,

My wife shall be sponsoring me. She is Canadian and i am currently residing in Japan. I have a question that she does not have a good credit history and at the moment she is also paying off Ontario Student Loan (OSAP) every month; $200 /month. after marriage she quit the job because she came to Japan with me.
so my question in this situation can she still sponsor me ?

Regards,

The student loan has no effect on the sponsorship eligibility. I've be paying off my student loans now for the past 9 years, almost done.

omg.... thats a quite long time ....
what about the credit history check would this affect ???

Thanks for replying

regards

I haven't heard of them doing a credit check. Although I have just recently heard of them asking for the sponsors banking history, tax returns, debt load ect. when the sponsor was unemployed (student).

This is very case specific though because the sponsor does not have to have proof of income in spousal cases.

thanks for your reply it really helps ...... :)
