Dear All,
Thanks for your support for my CEC application. On July 17 I got my AOR. My work permit is going to expire on next month and it is a close work permit with my company. Now I am planning to apply open work permit with my AOR Application no. now my query that my company will know about my new work permit then it may possible, they may be create problem in my CEC application. Please advise me
Thanks in advance
Regards

I don't understand why it would create a problem for your employer if you apply and get an open work permit? Are they worried you'll leave them? I don't think they'll know it if you don't tell them..

How would this be possible? What do you imagine they could or would) do?

Of course your company will know about the new permit, because your permit is about to expire and you will have to give them a copy of the new one (or quit).

Not sure why this would cause a problem with your CEC application though, as your eligibility is based upon the work experience that you enclosed in the application. And most employers would be happy to be spared the hassle of getting new LMIAs.

Hi
Thanks for your prompt reply.
My real worry is that they me be pass some wrong information about my work experience and they may create some miss understanding in CEC team.
Regards

^ You're concerned that if CIC makes enquiries about your case, your employer will not cooperate with them, as some kind of retaliation for your getting an open work permit.

I still don't understand - why would your company have a problem with it?

:D This is exactly what confuses me.

Hi

Makes no sense to me either. If your working well then I see no reason for your company to have a problem.

If you have your AOR then you just have to wait, I can see little reason for your company to have any issue. If they employ you without a valid permit then they may have issue with CIC.

Thx

I know. I have something like that only.

Sometimes they do have a problem. Human nature. Nothing can be done about it.

First - only a small percentage of employers are contacted.

Second, assuming your application included the Letter of employment (where your employer attests to your work experience) and tax documents (T4, NOA), the only way that your employer could give "wrong" information about your experience would be to attempt to deny the truthfulness of the documents they have themselves produced, which would be like admitting guilt to fraud. To cause problems for you would also be causing problems for themselves. I can't see what could be gained . . .

A remote scenario I can see would be if the person who wrote the letter has been dismissed for misconduct, in which case the company could deny the truthfulness of their Letter of Employment, but I suspect that would still create headaches for them...
