Hi everybody,

I just got my confirmation letter for PR and my passport with a 5 month visa to complete the process 8). In the instructions it says that "I cannot apply for my PR card from within Canada" that I need to go to a border port of entry or an International airport. Since I've been working here in Canada for the past three years, could I just go to the international airport without having to leave the country? Going to the States would require me to process a tourist visa and who knows how long that might take...

Thank you

You can flagpole at the nearest Canada-US boarder without entering USA. A trip around the flagpole, means driving from your starting point in Canada to the Canada-USA border, turning around, and re-entering Canada. You can do the "landing" at the Canadian gate. As you're already in Canada on TRV, when you receive approval for a PR visa you have to create an artificial situation in which you enter Canada in order to complete your permanent residency documentation.
