Country of Birth printed wrong on home country Renewed Passport

So I got my kid's home country passport renewed online and some how the country of Birth printed is Wrong (though city is correct), its in the format:
Place of Birth: City, CCC
somehow city is correct but the country code CCC, strange huh! Some data error, anyways the correction is a mess while being in Canada as to request remotely back to home country (e.g. visit to home country embessy, or contact passport office in home country and so on).
In this year, I do have to apply for Citizenship, I wonder if it would affect my kid's application? Or I must rectify this error prior to the citizenship application? Please advise I'm so pissed off and preplexed about this stupid error my home country passport office made. Thanks in advance!

Yes you should consider in correcting his passport as CIC just need something to return application.

Thanks, I try to reach out to home country passport office, in case not, then will reach out to consulate/embassy. What a mess they created, just before I was gearing up for Citizenship.
