Hello :)

I did order my spouse's GCMS notes, and I have a questoin.

in the notes, it did say next to counterfoil, NO

my spouse do need a counterfoil as not from a visa exmpt country.

please what do i do?

kind regards

I believe that's supposed to be an entry like:
COUNTERFOIL REQUIRED: NO
Which would be right if from a visa-exempt country as indeed it is not needed. Don't think you have to do anything.

Truesmile,

it sounds like they are not from a visa exempt country so they do need it??

I believe what it means is that they don't need a counterfoil - they need a proper visa in the passport, and not just a separate counterfoil... at least that's the way I understand it.
Good luck,
Sweden

Right! Read it few times and insisted to myself they accidentally omitted a word 'not' from the sentence. In that case I stand to be corrected . . . I suppose it means that they do not have it yet, counterfoil that is. Since we're on the topic, while I don't feel the need to order them yet (GCMS notes) but am I right in understanding you order them once and continue receiving updates for the duration fo the process??

Sorry, no that is not accurate.

Each time you order them, a new request has to be made.

Hey!

I don't think you can do anything for now. Which VO are you going through? maybe they note it down like this for another reason - maybe it means that they haven't asked for his passport yet, or something else - the notes are not always readable for an outsider, so I wouldn't read too much into it. If your husband needs a visa, then he will be asked for his passport in due time. The VOs process lots of application every year and they are very familiar with who needs a visa and who doesn't.
I think the notes are interesting to see which checks have been done, and if the VO considers your relationship genuine, or what red flag they might have noted, but in terms of administrative processing, I am not sure any of us here can really tell what all the codes mean ( unless they have worked with CIC before).

So - don't worry about it. If the assessment from the VO for the rest of your application shows that they have started working on your case, then probably you will get a passport request ( or rather, your husband) when they are ready to issue the visa.

Good luck,
Sweden

It says the same in our notes, and my husband also needs a visa for Canada. I've emailed the VO. So far this is the only thing that came to my mind. I am sure they will catch it before they issue the visa/COPR.

Good luck :)
