I got a bachelor's degree from the University of Alberta, have 5 months of NOC Level B Canadian work experience (still working). My IELTS scores are Reading 7 SPEAKING 8 WRITING 6 LISTENING 7.5 TOTAL 7. Being Single, no dependents or anything. Got my Alberta Provincial Nomination days ago.

My total points are 948. But my total work experience ( my 5months Canadian work experience is also my full time work experience in my whole life) is less than a year( so not qualify for CEC or Foreign worker program)

The tricky thing is that If I want to apply through EE, i cant wait for another 7 months to get the one year work experience to be qualified foe CEC. Because by the time I have the one year experience, my PNP nomination will get expired...

9. What is the process for potential candidates who want to use both a Provincial Nominee Program and Express Entry?

There are two ways to do this. A person can:

apply to the PNP first, get a nomination and then fill out an Express Entry profile; or
fill out the Express Entry profile first. Provinces and territories can then search the Express Entry pool and ask a candidate to apply for their PNP. When the candidate gets a nomination certificate, they will update their Express Entry profile.
In either case, once a person updates their Express Entry profile to show they have a provincial or territorial nomination certificate, they will be given enough additional points to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.


Here it is. But my question is that so the candidates mentioned here have to get their Provincial nominee letter after the EE has been launched？ so they have to get the nomination letter after 2015? Or what?

Also sometimes I see news that EE applies to A PORTION of PNP. What is that portion？


Can I still apply through EE? What are my chances of being invited?

Your total work experience is 5 months or you are referring to your experience in Canada? Have you worked outside of Canada?

No I dont have any work experience outside of Canada. Fresh graduate who only has 5 month work experience which is in Canada

There are other places within the document that says you MUST have at least one year experience whether in/out of Canada. Lets hope someone else can answer.

I think you just have to wait for 7 months then you can apply in express entry under CEC..

Yes that's very tricky. Since by the time I have the one year experience, my PNP nomination will get expired... So.... Harsh!

yea...that's the problem buddy...I have same case...I am eligible for provincial nominee now but not eligible for CEC....I have almost 5 months experience like you..so I will wait till 1 year....just before 3 months before CEC, I will try to apply provincial nominee...by that time all the rules of EE will also be clear because right now its confusing

or may be you can apply for federal skilled worker right now...as you have provincial nominee...

Within the Express Entry Criteria it has zero for less than 1 year experience. I am wondering if that means you may have a chance with your Nomination hand.

Really？ that foreign worker program does not have requirement on work experience? Any work experience（ non Canadian even?)

Nads1: I dont understand your question. I got my nomination from Alberta under a stream that as long as you are an alberta graduate, having a job offer you can be nominated. I applied for nomination a few days after i got the job offer thats why its fast.
