I am a December 2014 citizenship applicants!
I received a request today they need to provide
- a translation and a colored copy of my passport pages
- a rental agreement or mortgage documents
- tax assessment for claimed year of residency

I passed my test in OCT 13/2015

What caused that request...

Does any of these applies to you?


1.Any visits in USA made by crossing the land border
2.Any visa valid or expired to USA
3.Stamps in your passport which are not in English or French
4.Gaps in your travel documents or currently expired last passport.
5.Expired previous PR card
6.Living very long time at the same address.
7.Usage of a Travel Document other than a Passport or PR card
8. Any absence more than 6 months

Yes I did visited the state once , do I need to prepare for something else or this will be enough !

Send them whatever they request from you.
The old rules were a bag full of potential of delays.

Probably it has to do with your resident day in canada so prepare the doc of all your travel and passport stamp you got , if it is not in english or french get certified copy of translation and get it attested and send it to the CIC , if your no of day for citizenship requirement is fine then nothing to worry about

Looks like CIC need some additional details before they approve your case.

1) Ensure you get colored copies and translation from CIC authorized translator (You can check google for that in your area)
2) Rental Agreement / This is just to prove you were indeed living in Canada
3) You it request this from CRA / Sign up online with CRA, you can download CRA's Tax Assessment for previous years.

For no reason my application become a non routine now and i have to wait longer what is going on what they need exactly , could anyone explain what mentality we dealing with

For no reason my application become a non routine now and i have to wait longer what is going on what they need exactly , could anyone explain what mentality we dealing with

For few years, CIC abuse Citizenship rules, on slightly pretext categorized applications are non-routine to gain 36 months processing time.

Then most cases are assigned to Citizenship Judges, who seems to have authority ONLY to reject and scared to approve, stating the CIC will challenge their decisions and overrule. Its defies any logic, if so why they have to assign to CJ instead of rejecting the application.

Probably, CIC want to prolong the process for up to 4 years, deny the opportunity for candidates to re-apply quickly.....
