Hello guys.

My grandma is visiting canada at the moment and she needs to do some tests which is out of pocket(since no insurance company wants to cover her). Any idea how much could be the costs for emergency tests for maybe about 3-5 days in a hospital setting? Just a rough guess?

Around $850-$1000 per day for the hospital stay only last time I checked. This is for a normal bed (not acute care). My information is a few years old so it may be more now. Can't comment on the tests or other treatment. It will depend what those test and other treatments are. Assume this will cost extra on top of the room.

Thank you @scylla for the prompt reply.
One further comment... Test costs can vary massively depending on the kind of test. It's really impossible to generalize without knowing what kind of tests she is going to have.

Totally understandable.

Would add thay most tests aren't done inpatient. Expect that you'll be asked to pay upfront for any tests. If she is visiting would likely be a lot less expensive to return home. Due to covid there are even longer wait times and as a private payer she may not be able to get the tests done because she'll only be able to do the tests if it won't impact those waiting with provincial health insurance
