We are waiting for our PR, but in the mean time we need to come out for a year to help my daughter and her husband. We have been told by a lawyer we need a multi entry visa and it will cost around 2000 Cad. Can anyone tell us if this amount is normal or above the odds?

We want to stay for 6 months then need to head back to England for a couple of weeks, then return for another 6 months. Any thoughts as to whether we actually NEED a visa for this or can we just come back in after the 6 months.

Any thoughts welcome

1. Are you UK citizens? If so then you can arrive at a Canadian Port of Entry with a return ticket and you will usually be admitted for 6 months. There is no cost. If you need a TRV (visitor visa) then the cost for a single entry is $75.00 and the multi entry is $150.

Thanks PMM. Yes we are UK residents. I think we may be being stung by the lawyer, so will take our chance!
