Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone else is in the same situation or can offer some advice.

In my GCKey account, the last update I received was:

Final decision: February 18, 2025 – Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

However, background check and eligibility still show as “in progress” in the GCKey portal.

When I check the PR Tracker, it shows that all stages are completed — medical, biometrics, eligibility, and background.
It even shows COPR document details, including the document number and expiry date.

I called IRCC twice to follow up. I asked if they had sent me any email or portal instructions, but they said nothing has been sent yet and just told me to keep waiting.

It’s been over 3 months since the last update, and I haven’t received anything further.
My AOR is December 17, 2024 (CEC stream).

Is anyone else in the same situation — with COPR showing in the tracker but no portal email yet?
Would really appreciate any guidance or shared experiences.

Thanks in advance!

This is okay. Since they have confirmed that you've not been sent portal email, there's no confusion that you are still waiting for one. You could be very close to receiving it. This has happened with a few in the past. No one can offer any other advice here. You can ask lawyers who provide legal opinions on this forum and they'll confirm it is just a waiting game. You are in queue of some sorts that we have no visibility of!

Is it a good idea to request GCMS notes at this stage, or could it slow down the processing of my application further?

GCMS/CBSA notes don't have any impact on your application's processing time. You can pay for it and receive them. Time and money waste in my opinion. I'd personally chill and wait each week (for the next 2-3 weeks) to see if I receive my portal email.

Thanks for the info! I’ll wait a couple more weeks before doing anything. Hopefully the portal email comes soon. Appreciate it!

Hi, I am in a similar situation (though an Outland applicant), I got the Final decision update on March 26, 2025 and have been waiting ever since (76 days now) without any email (RFV/PPR). I have called severally and sent web forms but no respite. All I am being told by the agent is "all is well with my application ... just exercise patience. But this is really nerve wrecking.

Things are good as long as they say that no RFV/PPR has been sent to you. The general consensus on the issue is that there's a queue of landing/approval in which you are stuck as IRCC has already exceeded their quota. Since you are an outland applicant, much better to focus this time and energy on figuring out post settlement stuff like job, housing(rent you'd like to pay, area you'd like to live, city, etc), discover amenities in target area, getting anything done that you might need (e.g. name change on any misnamed doc), etc.

Thank you very much. I find your take very insightful and helpful... the best advice I have received yet on this sticky issue. I wish the IRCC agents would offer this much explanation instead of the generic and unhelpful sketchy responses, it would help calm nerves. Warm regards mate.

IRCC agents are very restricted in what they can say unless it is an approved script. Think about it in this way, CS teams have a compliance standard where a script they use is usually update in >6 months and takes another 1-3 months of sandbox training to be in place. So, IRCC will never be able to say "in a virtual queue" in time for you to get the right help. Maybe, when there's a chatbot with access to update info, it'll be much better.

But do focus on the outland to inland settlement journey, ended up putting me a decade ahead of most immigrants who came here. I got to enjoy Canada with everything it has to offer to so far and I'm loving it!
