Hi Guys,
By gods grace, my wife received her passport with the COPR Visa stamp today.

Our problem is that it expires on 25 Dec. However, both of us need to attend my brother's wedding in India in January.
Earlier the plan was that she will stay in India till the wedding and then come back with me after the wedding.
However, due to this expiry date, it seems she will have to travel before that date.

My question is;
1. Has anyone landed after the expiry date on the Visa? What happens if one does not land before this date? Any experiences?
2. Say if she comes before 25th to Canada and then goes back to India in Jan. She wont have her PR card with her. So, how does she get to enter back in Canada after attending the wedding in Jan?

Hi!! if she does not land by the expiry date of the visa she loses it and you will have to start the process all over again, I think CIC says so in the letter you receive too.

The best option is #2 to land before and go back for the wedding, I think I read there's a travel document you can request maybe someone else will know more about that. Not sure how long the PR card takes to arrive.

Yes she would have to land before that and then go back for the wedding. I think you would need to contact the visa office you went through and request a travel document to go back to Canada.

In a minute!
People have landed then traveled back to their countries to tie up loose ends like 2 weeks after they landed so it should not be a problem if she travels after she lands. She just can't be out of Canada for too long. Pr card takes a couple weeks last time I checked.

It takes about 50-60 business days to receive one's PR card, or anywhere from from 9-12 weeks.
