COPR destination city vs Soft Landing in different city

I am only planning for soft landing. I am planning to land in Vancouver for a week though am from OINP nominee and COPR destination is Toronto. I am planning to book the flight tickets only up to Vancouver and will return back without visiting Toronto/ Ontario during the soft landing. Will this be OK or will I have any issues?

Others can comment but being an OINP nominee you might get asked by CBSA about your onward travel arrangements to Ontario. No way to predict in advance so you might need a convincing story that it still is your intent to go to Ontario eventually when you return to live and you are just doing a soft landing this time around,. Of course once you are landed PRs you can live in any province at all

I have a similar situation and similar plans to visit Canada. I was also nominated by OINP and on my CoPR, "Ottawa" is the destination city. I live in WA, USA and its easy for me to go Vancouver for card activation. I have a job commitment in US till 09/2018, therefore I am also planning for a short trip of few days to Canada to meet my deadline (02/2018) for card activation.
DID YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION?

You can do a soft landing and give a Canadian address if you have friends or relatives living in Canada for PR card mailing and then have them mail back to you.

Thanks for your prompt reply. What evidences can I show to the immigration officer that a) I am on a short trip to Canada if I am traveling by land and my intention is not to settle in Vancouver (because my destination city is Ottawa).

Well if you're landing at the border, you can give them a Ottawa address. And also bring your employment letter stating that you have a job contract that will end in 09-2018 so you can tell them that you are doing soft landing and will be returning to the states after a few days.
