Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi folks!

I'm currently working outside of Canada and just today I received my COPR after submitting my passport and photos a few days ago. My COPR says I have until February 2016 to enter Canada to obtain my PR status. I understand I will have to live at least 2 years in Canada during the 5 years following my receiving PR status.

Question: Will the 5 years start from the date I enter Canada and obtain PR status or have they started today already when I received my COPR? If it's the former, I will delay my entering Canada until February 2016 so I get a couple months leeway.

You will receive your PR once you land in Canada, but you will only be able to keep it after 5 years if you've lived at least 2 out of these 5 years inland. The 5 years starts counting when you land.
