I came to Toronto last year 2018 on visitor visa with my Spouse, who is currently working here on closed work permit, and after that, I applied for the open work permit.
I got the open work permit & its validity is same as of my spouse, and post that I got a permanent job here based on my open work permit.
My question is that:
1. Is it possible to apply to CIC to extend my open work permit to a date, which is greater than my spouse’s closed work permit end date?
Asking this as my open work permit has a reference of my spouse’s closed work permit in Remarks section mentioning “Accompanying Spouse UCI number”, so does it means that my open work permit is tied & valid only until my spouse’s closed work permit is valid?
2. As now I have a permanent job here, so can I apply to CIC to convert my open work permit to closed work permit? And if yes, then what is the process for this & what other information I need from my company & which forms I have fill on CIC site?
