On CIC tool for calculating CRS scores, it asks "ii. How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation"
So if I have 2 years of experience in one full time job, and then 2 years of experience in another job, part-time, on the same NOC, can I only count the 2 years from the full time job? (because the second experience is not "continuous" to the first one)
Or would I get points for all 3 years of experience?

I think you get points for 3 years of experience (2 yrs for full-time) and (1 year for part-time).

Do we get points for 1 year part time job ? I guess it has to b 2 year part tym.

Yes, to count 1yr full-time, you'll need to work for 2yr part-time the way @JoacRy counted.

Hi guys,

we were discussing with a friend this issue.

I have 3 years of work with the valid NOC codes. 3 months in a company 4 years ago and 2 years and 11 months in my current job.
When I was 2 years and 9 months the system calculated my score as having 3 years of experience.

I assume that the work experience is calculated on different jobs not only one.
It would be good if you can confirm my assumptions. :)

Thanks! I found this explanation in the CIC site and I understand it this way but wanted to be sure.

Your experience must be at least 12 months of full-time (30 hours of paid work per week or more) or an equal amount in part-time hours.

Full Time

30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

Part time

15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
OR
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

This is what CIC website says (fact)...What confirmation you need/want beyond that?

Just wanted to hear an opinion if I misunderstand this statement.

that's why I said thanks for answering :)

Ok so my frnd got points for 1 year full tym cec even though she has 1 year 6 months part tym( she worked 24 hours per week) i guess express entry profile considers hours and give points to candidates.

So if she gets ITA, she should apply ? because right after 1 year 6 months of part tym, she got full tym job and she completed 1 year as full tym. so eventually she got 2 year full tym cec points, but in actual she has completed 1 year 6 month in part tym and 1 year as full tym.

If she has one year full time she is fine, that is the minimum for CEC.

But she got points for part tym also , though she only worked 1 year 6months

Sorry, I misread your post.

If the system gave her points for two years full time, no she should not accept the ITA.

Yes, she can apply, based on this information. CIC does accept part-time work, they can calculate the full-time equivalent (FTE). 1 year 6 months is about 78 weeks, 78 weeks * 24 hours per week = 1872 hours, or the full time equivalent of 62 weeks (1872/30) or approximately FTE of 14 months. As long as she can document the work and the hours, she will get credit for 2 years.
