Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hello members,

We are planning to apply for canada immigration (FSW) based on my wife's work experience. She has work experience in one of the new 29 occupations under FSW category. However here is my concern: She was working full time with 1 Aug 2006 - 26 Feb 2007 with Organization A in Africa and from 5 Mar 2007 - 14 Nov 2007 with another Organization B in India. She was traveling and taking a break before joining Organization B. We are confused whether CIC will still accept it as one year of continuous full-time paid work experience?

I would appreciate if seniors , attorneys and people who have applied in similar situation can suggest us on the same.

Thanks,

Hi

CHC/CIC does not consider such experience as continous. Logically, it is not continous (6m+9m). Is it?

MH

Thanks MH but this is what i am questioning. Her total experience is more than one year and she was traveling internationally before joining Organization B. She works in social sector and the assignments with International NGOs and Social organizations are based on projects. I am sure people who work in social sector are aware of it.

I would appreciate if seniors/attorneys and others in a similar situation can provide their opinion as well.

Hi can_am,

Unfortunately, the requirement is "1 continuous year of experience" which means that there should be no break in the Job.

Hi Can_am

What did you find out? please let me know as i am facing the same problem. Is it acceptable or not?

Hi Guys,
I have the same question concern.
I'll be submitting my application as Federal Skilled Worker (with arranged employment) and there are things that I need to clarify and I need your two cents on this.

First, here's my Work Experience History:
1. Oct 2010 - Present - My present company - Chef (skilled) (13 months)
2. Jun 2010 - Oct 2010 - Previous Employer A - Chef (skilled) (4 months)
3. Sep 2009 - Jan 2010 - Previous Employer B - Chef (skilled) (4 months)
4. Jul 2008 - May 2009 - Previous Employer C - Commis Trainee or Chef Trainee (10 months)
5. Feb 2006 - Jul 2008 - Previous Employer D - Customer Service representative (non-skilled) (29 months)
6. Dec 2002 - Jan 2006 - Previous Employer E - Cook (skilled) (38 months)

My concerns are the following:
1) If you noticed I have two of my skilled jobs above (2 & 3), with 4 months duration only, will they still be included for assessment or only at least 12months work duration is/are eligible for points and assessment?
I have read this but still unclear to me though:
(You will earn points for the number of years you have spent in full-time (37.5 hours per week, or the equivalent in part-time), paid work.)

2) Job 4 is actually full-time paid apprenticeship for 10 months but I was not so sure of should I consider this as a work experience or education?

3) Job 5 is the longest duration of my employment in a skilled occupation however the company is already closed and I do not have anything that I could use as an evidence that I have worked for the company. Given my situation, I know that there's no way I could still have this assessed but is it okay to just put this in my personal history?

Hope you can help me with my concerns and looking forward to hear from you. Thanks.
