Contacting MP - Citizenship Application past processing time

Hi All,

My citizenship application is 2 months past the current processing time of 17 months and I'm thinking I should reach out to my MP at this point. To the people who contacted their MP with successful results, what is the best way to reach out to them? Should I e-mail, call them or visit the office personally?

Most have downgraded office visits due to covid. I had success with email, but depends on office. I'd say email, then follow up with a call if you haven't heard from them in a couple weeks.

There is nothing that an MP can do especially if your processing time is similar to others being currently processed and there isn’t an issue preventing normal processing. Your MP will likely get back to you to say you just have to wait. Posted processing times are just estimated averages and are often not very accurate. It is just meant to provide an estimate of average processing times and not a guarantee that you will be processed by a certain dates. If you want to know actual processing time would look at many posts in the citizenship section from your area and you should get a better idea of actual processing times.
