Hi guys,

So basically I came to Canada and was granted permanent residency because my mom was in the skilled worker program and I was a dependent. I'm now in my twenties. If they revoke her PR status for some reason, would mine be affected?

Thanks so much.

Other people will give you a definitive answer, but I believe that CIC reserves the right to take away all of the consequences of an initial fraud -- citizenship, citizenship for associated people, etc. I don't think that this extends to people born in Canada, however. I would assume that if you came to Canada as a dependent of your mother, and your mother's PR is being stripped because of an initial fraud, that yours COULD be revoked. Whether it will be in practice, I don't know.

If your mother's PR is being revoked because of criminality or anything that happened subsequent to her landing, then you're fine.
