Hi Guys,

I need some advice, My girlfriend and I are in a serious committed relationship and she is the one i want to spend the rest of my life with.

She is from Iran ( Canadian citizen ) and her family and their culture will not allow us to marry due to age, ethnicity etc etc.

This being the case that we can not get married and immigration barriers do not allow us to live together, would we class under the Conjugal status?

Regards,

Oli

1. Not a chance. If you are adults there is nothing stopping you from marrying or living together. IRCC won't accept "annoying the parents" is a valid reason.

No, that is not sufficient to claim conjugal. It is not a legal or immigration barrier.

If you can legally get married, that is what you'll be expected to do. It would be your personal choice to get married without her parents permission.

If you're refusing to get married because of her parents, then honestly what do you think they would say when you move to live with her in Canada??

What others have said. You can get married. Her parents and her culture can't prevent you from getting married. So conjugal won't work.

Just marry without her parents consent. Problem solved.

If your parents arent approving of the relationship, might as well continue to "defy" them and just get married anyway.
