Confusion regarding NOC.........

I am Web developer. As per NOC my code is 2175,
and i do programming as well in various languages(such as java script,java).

So can i claim NOC 2174 which is Computer programmer and Interactive media too?


When i access 2174 NOC Computer programmer and Interactive media page at the end they have written :
Exclusions

Web designers and developers (2175)
Computer network technicians (2281)
Database analysts and data administrators (2172)
E-business managers (in 0124 Advertising, marketing and public relations managers)
Software engineers and designers (2173)

They have excluded Web designers and developers (2175) . So can i claim now ?

The Job Designation is not at all important. What matters is the duties that you performed. Just check whether your duties are more echoed in 2175 or 2174.

In NOC 2175 (Web developer) my duties are 7.
In NOC 2174(Computer programmer) my duties are 6.

if you do programming for software that does not confine only to web then 2174 is your best bet as it is not specific to only web. In you letter keep focus on computer and software programming and not web if you choose to opt for 2174. I think 2174 scope is wider so if a person in using java and C++, shell scripting programming and not only - HTML, CSS and JS for web pages development - take 2174.

And most importantly, the duties in employer's reference letter should match the duties defined with 2174 on CIC official site.

For them, all are the same. The onus is on you to choose the one that is closest to the duties you perform.
