Thanks for the tips Gary. How many pictures did you include? Did you include your wedding card and guest lists as well?
Well I'm going commonlaw so no wedding stuff Here. My application needed to prove the relationship moreso than a apousal one. I included 26 photos since 2009. Just highlighting the main points in our relationship.

If you got married tho make sure to include the wedding cards, guest list, proof of wedding as much as possible. Maybe show receipts for wedding venue, rentals etc. Its not essential but the more the merrier. Anything that shows it wasn't a marriage of convienience is great! And if yours was legit, which I'm totally sure it was, then you'll be completely fine.

You could include an app with 500 pages and 1000 photos and 200 pages of transcripts ... or it could be 134 total like me. And I'm commonlaw. If your relationship is straightforward and honest hen you'll be fine! :)

Thanks Gary. You mentioned the following "You could include an app with 500 pages and 1000 photos and 200 pages of transcripts". What do you mean by that? What are transcripts?

I was giving an example that you could create a huge application if you wanted but its not necessary. Only create a huge application if you feel you need to.

Transcripts are copies of emails. I didnt include any. Just screenshots of my email account. :) I live with my partner so we mainly communicate face to face.

Is she visa exempt? Cos she can always come join u on a visitors visa? My work visa is about to expire and id ha e to gk home but I'm going to apply for a visitors one. Could be worth looking into. You can visit while pr is in progress.

And your welcome. Happy to help. I was in your position a couple months ago so returning the favours :D

You're a kind soul. She is still studying in school until May/June. I heard that if someone comes here as a visitor then it delays the application process. So that's why I haven't asked her to come here to visit me.

It shouldn't delay it at all.

If after school she wants to come to canada and visit you while waiting for pr that's totally fine so long as she is eligible and from a country where it is easy to travel to canada from!

Its called dual intent and its totally legal. So many people on this forum are doing it including me. So after her studies maybe she can come! It won't delay your pr application.

The only difficulty is if they call her for an interview then shell have to go to her home country. Same for me but I'm taking the risk. Interviews are rare at the best of times for people from the uk tho!

Wow I didn't know that. Thanks for the information!! But for a visitor visa, I would have to write her a formal letter inviting her and all. So that's also a process. Then if there is an interview then we would have to deal with that. Sometimes I think it might be better to wait things out. Not sure. But thanks for the tips!!!

No real need for a letter. If she has proof of payment and aponsor approval from you and demonastrated she was only intending to visit (links to home country such as a job or a house) then they'd prob let her visit. Normally people meed a return flight but if she had the funds and can prove it she wouldnt need it.

Its different depending on where she's from and how shed arrive but worth looking into!

Good luck!
