Hi everyone,
I received an invitation to apply for PR under CEC after yesterday draw. Now I need your advice on filling my Address History.

In February this year, I moved from Montreal to Halifax for a new job. I started working there for about a month, then it closed temporarily because of Covid-19. Early April, while staying at home, I decided to visit a friend in Montreal because he was feeling isolated at that time. When I was there, I decided to stay longer to take the earliest IELTS exam available (there were no IELTS exams available in Halifax until July). My IELTS exams kept cancelling or delaying because of Covid-19 and finally I booked one on 26 June. So I stayed until June, did my exam, then came back to Halifax at the end of June. I've been staying in Halifax since then until now and started working again since mid-July. My Address History looks like this:
February - April: Halifax
April - June: Montreal
June - present: Halifax
But my friend told me it didn't make sense to write HIS address in my Address History because it was not my home, I didn't pay the rent there. While staying at his place, I was still paying the rent and bills for my home in Halifax. The reason I concerned about the Montreal stay period is because my IELTS was taken there. If I say I stayed in Halifax during February - June, then I'm worried the officer will question the authencity of my IELTS. Otherwise, he will question my honesty when filling the Address History.

After sleeping on it, I think I should not write my friend's address in my Address History, but I write a Letter of Explanation instead, saying that I stayed at this address from when to when and attaching my lease contracts to prove that my permanent address is in Halifax. What do you think about this solution? Should I write a LOE like this, or list his address in my address history or otherwise?

My friend said I was overthinking. Yes, agree, I am. I got refused PR once (it's another story), so now I become completely paranoid and don't want to take any risks with my second chance. I don't want them to find any little excuses to reject my application or even worst, ban me. Please advise.
Thanks all.
