hi
im working as a chef at the moment and i got enough point to immigrate as a skilled worker catogery, but since chef and cook both in the NOC im bit confuce under which catogery i should apply.i'v done commercial cookery cert 3 and i'v more than 3 years exp since then.i did wk as chef de partie full time wk for two years a year and half ago.but atm im wking as a casual chef.since chef and cook both are required to show formal educational qualifications can some one say which category i should apply for.
ur thoughts are highly appreciated regarding this.thank you

It is completely up to you which one you pick. You might pick the one where the job description is closer to what you are doing now for example.

thank you very much leon for ur advise,i did check the noc job description for both cook and chef but seems both seems similar descriptions.i do feel im more qualified to apply as chef rather cook but wonder what happen if i apply as cook instead?chefs are required to have more formal qualifications than cooks, though i do have formal qualification apply as chef it seems apply as cook is much easiar when it come to show the experience since my current job is casual one.(heard from some one the current job is the one the rely most for verity exp),
any way pls tell me what will happen if i apply for wrong job title though im qualified for both one way or another?will they assess me to the relavant job tilte or refuse my application?

As long as your job description and qualifications fit the NOC, I don't think they can refuse you.

Since both Chef and cook are in the 29 NOC list, try and apply to that job category where you have the maximum experience. That way you will get more points for eligibility.

Good Luck!

Go for both since both will give you points and you will have a back up plan if one of the positions cap reaches its lmit. You have done working as a cook before you became a chef, so go for both judt split them in the time anf you will get a good solid chance to get accepted.
