You will have to write both:

1. Pakistan - citizen since your date of birth to current

2. Australia - student visa/permit along with date of issue and expiry

It clearly says in the question that immigration status e.g. citizen, student, work visa, protected person etc.

But he is in Australia as a student
He was not citizen of Australian

So why he will write his Australian study permit

What I understand he should write only Pakistan and dob and current

Thanks

The guide is very clear. Please do not get confused. Here is a copy from instructions in the guide:

  1. Tell us if you have had immigration, permanent resident status and/or citizenship in any other country outside of Canada, including your country of birth.
    • Check either yes or no.
    • If you check yes, complete the chart in question 13.
    • Tell us which countries you have held status in, and exactly what status you held or currently hold (student, employment/worker, refugee/protected person, permanent resident or citizen).
    • Provide the month and year (MM/YY) that you obtained each status.
    • If your status is no longer valid, provide the month and year (MM/YY) your status ended. If you still hold this status, indicate “current”.

Hope it helps :)

As he didn’t get any immigration so mark no
And that’s it

The guide is pretty clear, we saw another post arguing about the meaning of immigration - for CIC purpose, they need this info not what we think should mean by the word immigration

Well I got the same idea after I read the question 13
"You immigration status or citizenship"
---
Immigration means permanent relocation, but not a temporary one for study or summer work.
---
Would you call seasonal workers or students immigrants? Of course no, unless they decide to apply for actual immigration status which is Permanent Resident (or Landed Immigrants) in Canada, or Green Card in USA etc.

I had two business visas issued for India over the last two years - literally just visiting for a week x 2

I think this is technically 'status' as above - any insights?
