Hello everyone,

Because of the political and economical situation in our home countries of me and my wife, we have not kept our savings in a bank until now. We have the required funds as cash though.

It is highly possible that I will get an ITA at the next draw (missed the previous one by 2 points), so I understand we have to put this money to my bank account. I have two questions if you people could shed a light:

1) Does it have to be in my account before the ITA, or can I transfer it after I receive the ITA?

2) Should I explain our situation I explained above with a LOE, or should I get a gift deed from someone like my brother?

Thanks.

You cant show cash as there is no trace of the source of funds.

I was told, PNP require the money for 3~6 months or so in the account, but if only Express entry I think you will be fine if you have the money in the account right before it, but I suggest you get the balance certificate document rather than showing a statement

balance certificate the bank certifies you have X in your bank account equal to Y CAD

Good luck

Thanks everyone. But what do you think I should do to explain the last minute balance? Explain my situation honestly in a LOE (that it is our money but hesitated to depoist in a bank), or get a gift deed and show the money as a gift?

You can try and explain it as you have here, but there's no guarantee that CIC will accept this.

If you can't back up savings with cash receipts from cashing payslips etc then a gift deed might be the simpliest.

Thanks for the suggestion.

So, there is no possibility of refusal if it is a gift deed? Because in that case, the only thing I can show beside the sum, is my salary account and the transactions on it. They are just magically convinced if it is a gift? :)
