Confusing Reply from IRCC

Hi Guys,

Hope you guys are having great time!

I am from india. I had got my PPR (through SDS) on 23rd april 2021 and through a webform on 27th april 2021, I had requested for extension of passport submssion deadline due to lockdown here.

Today i have got the following reply:-


Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

We verified the information you provided and have forwarded it to the responsible office.

Furthermore, we are pleased to confirm that the application is still in process.

Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only.

We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize the application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

Furthermore, please note that there are two ways you can check your application status online. You can verify the status of your application:

  • Submitted by mail (if it was not linkedto an online account):
  • Submitted online orsubmitted by mail and linked to an online account:

my GC key says the following things:-

Review of eligibility
  • We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results
  • April 19, 2021 You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents
  • We do not need additional documents.
Interview
  • You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics
  • April 2, 2021 Completed.
Background check
  • We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision
  • Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details.





Also, i had received my ppr letter on 23rd April 2021.

So, what is actually happening here? did the ircc guys misread my GC status?

Nothign serious, you sent a webform to them, you got approval before the auto email was sent to you to confirm they received the webform. It’s normal. That email is just a sign showing they receive the webform.

i got ppr on 23rd april 2021 and raised webform on 27 april 2021.

i got this reply on webform today.

this reply is normal?

Unless your submit your passport and a visa is issued, your application will continue to show in progress on your Mycic account as well as in the IRCC responses.

What you received is a very generic response. No need to be concerned, after a few days try again. Currently VOs in India are closed due to lockdowns, and / or are working within very limited staff.
