Ok so my husband is applying for PR. App received end of June, medical done mid March, biometrics done May 1. We got a message yesterday requesting he send his passport to Mississauga, but there is no other instruction or information. They did not request passport photos, or any other documents or paperwork. There is no mention of how it will be sent back.

Is this PPR? Or something else? What is going on???

You have the option of not sending your passport and then being refused for not complying with a request, I suppose.

I'm not asking if I should send or not, I'm going to regardless. I'm just trying to figure out what is happening.

Then provide a lot more detail - what exactly did the message say? Post it here without personal details.

And what does the top part of the letter say?

This isn't a passport request for the final processing of your application. This looks like an additional documents request, which means that you may not have provided a clear copy of the passport in the initial application. But it's important to know the first few sentences.

The top part is included, second image.

Sorry, I didn't scroll down all the way.

Was the passport valid when you submitted the initial copies? They are asking to review the passport. You can scan in every page and email it to the email on the form. The copy you submitted may not have been clear enough for them to read.

Thank you for your help. He had to renew his passport so it is probably because of that. Itll be ok to just submit online and not mail in the real thing?

Yes, if the passport expired, that is likely why they want to see the new one.

The highlighted part in yellow says you can email a scan.

I thought the yellow part is a generic part of the letter. @Canadabanana did you highlight it in yellow before sharing it with us, or did IRCC send it as highlighted?

I think what has been requested at the top of the Page 1 is the original passport of the applicant. The rest of the instructions are just generic instructions that go out probably with most letters that they send out? It also mentions how to obtain a PCC, whereas in this case PCC has not been requested at all.

I feel that they are asking for the original passport.

@Canadabanana is the Principal Applicant currently in Canada or resides in Canada? What is his/her country of nationality?

Ok, then just email it to them asap and call them after 2-3 days and ask if they have received it and ask if that is all they wanted for now.
