Hi
I have checked the CIC web site, this forum and another forum but just cannot find the answer to my case and I am hoping somebody here can please help. In brief:-

Going through PR process (applied December 2013)
Outland application
From UK and Fiancée sponsored me
Final hurdle of process and now 'Decision made' status

What does it actually mean? positive, negative or cannot tell
How long does it take to hear after decision made?
How do I hear post or email?
Where does it go where I am living in Canada or UK address?
What is process after that? (I live just north of Toronto do I have to flag pole and what is best way Flight, car, walk?)
My visa extension is due to end 1st February, should I extend again?

I am sorry so many questions I just cannot find the answer to and we are both just getting stressed about the current status
Thanks to anybody who can help even if just a few questions you can answer

Decision made usually means a positive answer.
When was it update?
Why don't u email or call them?
As you don't need a visa in ur passport, I believe they will ask for a copy of it.
I am not an expert on this so I hope some else gives u better info here.
Good luck!

There's no way of knowing if it's positive or negative. However if you weren't asked to an interview - it should be positive.

My husband received his approval via email.

The fastest way to land will be to flagpole at a US/Canadian land border like Ft. Erie. You can do this by car or even by bus (e.g. megabus, greyhound).

I would wait another couple of weeks before extending your visitor status. Hopefully you'll get a positive decision before your visit runs out.

Thanks for replies

DM was about 9 days ago, how long does it take for reply and will it come to Canada or UK address?

The email / letter reply does it go to applicant or sponsor?

How long do I have to be out of the country for? Do I just go over and come straight back and how long does the process take?

Thanks again

It should go to the applicant.

You can cross the border and come back immediately. There is no minimum time that you need to be out of the country. The process generally takes 15 minutes, although I've heard some do it in 5. It depends on the lines at the border as well.

Thanks

I am thinking about parking in Canada and walking over a bridge to USA to flag pole and do landing. I have been told this way is very quick and little or no line ups. Is this possible? Have been told I can do this at Niagara but they were unsure if still possible and which bridge to use........any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Just in case a newbie is reading this that applied Inland...flag polling is ONLY available for Outland applicants.

Inlanders must wait for their landing interview at their local CIC office.

Mine is DM as well, I'm US (outland) so I was wondering if I'll still get a passport request as I realized I haven't sent them an updated passport as I changed my name to my married name so my other one isn't valid. I still have it to show them and I've emailed them stating that I changed it and had planned to email them a scanned copy . Due to the holidays, I forgot that I never sent it and honestly I didn't think I'd go this fast as I was going to send it this week. So I'm nervous as I want to finish this and I'm so close. Should I call them as well? I'm freaking out a little.

If you got DM, your may not get PPR. They might have simply forgotten your last e-mail. You should e-mail them with the scanned copy ASAP. The name on your COPR MUST MATCH your name on your passport or you will have issues when you try to land. I'd call CIC also.

Will do, tonight for scanned copy through email and I'll call first thing tomorrow.

There is a good chance if you do this, you will be self-deporting yourself. You'll be stuck in the States with no car and it's cold as *(%&* right now. If I'm not mistaken you will also cancel your application if you do this.

Huh? The OP will have their CoPR in hand, so how could their application be cancelled?

Oh...maybe it wasn't clear, but the OP would need to have their CoPR with them before flag polling.

And flag polling doesn't require the person to actually enter the U.S. since they are simply turned around (after informing the U.S. Border agent that they are flag polling) and returned to the CBSA side of the line.

I think I lost my reading comprehension skills for a minute. I'll delete that post since my info was completely wrong. Thanks for catching that.

I have a related question as well, it may have been a little bit answered, can I enter the states and do some, errands ( pick up some medications I need as I don't have a doctor up here so it's US and I need it soon) for about half an hour, then head back into Canada? Or should I wait another week as that is also doable but I can't wait longer than that.

Thanks all for replies and comments

The only part I am now unsure of is what an average time is to hear once the application for PR goes to Decision made.

This happened about 9 days ago so we are not sure how much longer to wait
Thanks
