Hi people,

I'm at the beginning of the process, preparing IELTS and I sent my diploma to WES...
I was sure I was eligible for Express entry, considering that my English is very good and I have a Masters degree.
I used a free tool for assessment and I got a positive result since they asked me to create the profile.. that was a month ago, I did it on my phone and right now I have no idea what kind of tool that was ...

So I'm totally confused and don't know what I'm doing wrong or I really am not eligible.

Today I took that eligibility test with the assumption of IELTS score of 7'5/8 and I got to the part where they ask about work experience in

"In the last five years, do you have at least two years of experience in one of these types of jobs (skilled trades)?
  • industrial, electrical and construction trades (NOC codes that start in 72)
  • maintenance and equipment operation trades (NOC codes that start in 73)
  • supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production (NOC codes that start in 82)
  • processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators (NOC codes that start in 92)
  • chefs and cooks or (NOC codes that start in 632)
  • butchers and bakers (NOC codes that start in 633)"

No, I don't have any experience in mentioned above.

I have Masters degree in engineering management
- married with 3 children
- I work as a municipal project manager and have 10 years of experience (my NOC is 0412)
- 35 years old

Can somebody help me clarifying what I'm doing wrong? Thank you!

How much money did you say you had (proof of funds)?

I don't think reading above makes you ineligible in anyways...

You mentioned above that you work experience is in the Municipal Project Management...
Have you checked the possibility that your current work experience falls under "Regulated Profession" ? https://settlement.org/ontario/empl...d/which-professions-are-regulated-in-ontario/ ?

The questions above specially the one highlighting above may fall under Skilled Trades Professionals role: http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p3V...72&CVD=122374&CPV=72&CST=01012011&CLV=2&MLV=4

hey thanks!

My job is not regulated as I'm not in construction.. It seems that "project manager" in Canada means construction/building project manager by default.
It got me really surprised when I was searching for my NOC and possible jobs in Canada.
I think I found the proper NOC for my job and its listed as "economic development coordinator" but I'll look for more.

I did completed free assessment form on this site and it states that my score is 433, which is quite low.

You made me less nervous with your first sentence. Thank you again!

Okay, so when you say 433, can you highlight whats contributing to your score? I mean whats the break of this 433?
Have you included ECA and IELTS for your wife as well?

I'm wife :) and main applicant

My hb has high school diploma only and I don't count on him for IELTS.

well, I have what they asked for 5 member family

What amount is that exactly? Sometimes people accidentally look at an old table, include an amount that's too low and end up being ineligible. Always good to check you have the right amount. The more details you provide - the more we will be able to help.

I suggest you pester him like any wife would ;) and make him sit for the IELTS. This will get your points up from the 433s to at least 440+

there wasn't any question about funds in the form...

I'll do everything again

he said he would learn if I help him... but we'll see how this will go, he's not someone who likes to learn on paper, he's more visual type

Wouldn't say project manager in Canada means construction project manner by default. Maybe the NOC descriptions are misleading you. All industries have project managers in Canada.

I really am confused by posible Canadian titles of my job...
For the past 9 years I am a Project manager (in a Municipality) and when I started to look on JobBank, Indeed, Monster.. everything that would came up after typing those words was related to construction jobs...
When I was searching for my NOC I was able to find NOC 0412 that I believe is suitable for my job description, more concrete "economic development co-ordinator"
The real trouble is, and that worries me these days, is that I'm not being able to find, guess, assume.. what kind of jobs am I qualified in Canada? Because there is no demand for "economoc development co-ordinator" in job market.
I'm aware that I won't be able to find something in public sector and that it will be challenging to find a job in Ca.. but I feel a bit lost in terms of what am I really qualified to do, how could be called those jobs and what kind of jobs will I apply to in Ca.
I'm panicking with all different job titles. I know I need to start from scratch, I'm not afraid of that.. I'm afraid of not being able to recognize oportunities and possible jobs.
I was manager on projects in tourism, culture, construction, infrastructure, sport, youth and so on, apart from that I was youth coordinator, investment coordinator, member of many boards- for scholarship, hiring etc.. there are many different things and I'm not able to figure out what could be titles suitable for me in Ca. It seem to me that I'm "all over the place" and simply lost
