Confused about Work Permit for out- of- status spouse

This is a very recent change as applications have been moved to online only. Until this summer you could include OWP with spousal application.

I see that. I hope that it's not as bug ridden as the `new' online process for a PR card; combined what was PR card and PRTD paper applications into one...mess, according to reported errors from many people.

So in a nutshell, an out- of- status spouse cannot apply for an Open work Permit until he/she has AIP?
