Hello and good morning. I got my ITA on April 11 2018 draw, it was a bit unexpected because I was expecting to get the points for 3 year experience somewhere in May/June. FYI, with and without 3 years my point is 456 and 431 respectively. So this is how my work experience actually is and reported in CIC.

- April 7, 2014 - June 28, 2014 ( Software Engineer Intern with 20 hours/ week in Company A)
  • Reported in CIC as April, 2014 - June, 2014 ( 20 hours / week should give me 1.5 months of eligible experience)
- May 1, 2015 - August 31, 2015 ( Software Engineer Intern with 20 hours/week in Company B)
  • Reported in CIC as May, 2015 - August, 2015 ( 20 hours / week should give me 2 months of eligible experience)
- September 1, 2015 - April 11, 2016 ( Junior Software Engineer with 40 hours/week in Company B)
  • Reported in CIC as September, 2015 - April, 2016 ( 40 hours / week should give me 7 or 8 months of eligible experience depending on what they did with the month of April)
- April 12, 2016 - current time ( Software Engineer with 40 hours/week in Company C)
  • Reported in CIC as April, 2016 - Current time ( 40 hours / week should give me 24 months of eligible experience)
I had a feeling that they considered April, 2016 twice because I changed job in the middle of the month, but then again this seems like a silly mistake from their end as this should be a really common scenario. Not sure what to do with the ITA now, I have till July 11th to either accept or decline it. I would really like to hear this community's suggestion in this case. Thank you and have a great day.

Submit your e-APR after completing 3 years of work experience.
Thank you so much for the quick reply. I will submit my e-APR after completing 3 years however, I am not sure if I and CIC calculate 3 years the same way. And I am not sure how lenient or harsh visa officers are about this time. Thanks again.

Shouldn't they complete 3 years before receiving the ITA?
That is why I was surprised after receiving the ITA. It clearly seems the calculation has been done differently from their end.
I reported everything to CIC profile as mentioned in my initial post. Still pretty confused, planning to wait till mid June before submitting e-APR.

No. He meets the MEC so it is fine to submit the e-APR after completing 3 years of work experience.
Sorry, I do not know what MEC means, but does not matter I guess.
@DelPiero07 , one last question. There was a gap of 2-3 weeks in my work in last December. I had to take an unpaid leave because of US work permit delay, what would you suggest as a good way to show it to the visa officer ?

Considering those 3 weeks of gap and mismatch in 3 year calculation I have decided to submit the e-apr at the end of June. This should give me 3 years of eligible experience. Again, thank you so much.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1 - You cannot count that period as valid work experience so you can explain the situation in a LOE.

Thank you for clarifying. That is why I am planning to wait till mid/end of June to submit the e-APR. Will start gathering the documents in the meantime. Really appreciate your help.

Hi. I am in similar situation. Can you please me how did your process go? Did you face any issues afterwards?

Hi Haider, I eventually accepted the ITA in the middle of June, when I actually completed 3 years according to my calculation, and I did not have any issues with it later.
