We are landing with my wife's new PR status about a month before my 8 "LARGE" boxes will arrive. How does it all work so I wont get charged more duty on these items?
This is how I did it:
Check the box on the landing form to Canada on the plane. The one that says "I/we have shipped goods not accompanying us"
Boxes will arrive at airport and you will have to fill out another form and talk to a Customs officer. Explain it's your personal effects.

The airport or somewhere you can clear them yourselves with a customs officer. For me it's an airport since I am not on a border. This is just how it happened with me when I moved back home. I didn't immigrate as I'm already Canadian. So it could be different for you.

Yeah, but they have to be cleared by Customs usually.. anyways that's what happened to me when I shipped to my house. You can't ship to an airport anyways, I think that could be terrorism
