I just got my Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) approved through Express Entry (FSW), and I'm planning to land in Canada in about two months. Super excited and grateful for this journey so far
But I’ve run into a bit of confusion that I hope someone here can help me with...
My passport is expiring in 5 months, and I just realized that might be an issue when I try to land. My COPR is valid until December 15, 2025 (based on my medical), but I’m not sure if CBSA will allow entry with a passport that has less than 6 months' validity — even though everything is technically still within the valid window.
A few questions I have:
Thanks in advance.

A few questions I have:
- Will I face any issues landing with a passport that expires 5 months from my landing date?
- Should I try to renew my passport before I travel, even though that would mean re-issuing the COPR?
- Has anyone here landed with a short-validity passport and had no issues?
Thanks in advance.
