I just wrote a bunch of different articles on Co-op Programs offered by various Canadian universities , but haven't got the clear understanding of what it really is,

Suppose I got admission in a Canadian University for my Master's degree (2 years program) and I successfully got admit in Co-op program too,
How would it exactly work, When will i need to go for Co-op in a Company, for example, Timing, Days etc... ?

Will it be counted as a Course ? Because I just read that the Co-op Program is mandatory in some fields.

I just read that we are supposed to pay fee for the Co-op program too, what does that mean ?

at uottawa the Co-op Program average salary for Engineers is approx $800 / Term. Can we work part-time (odd job) along with the Co-op Program. ?

Please elaborate your answer if possible. I just read a topic on Co-op but it didn't really answer my questions.

A Co-op program will have a certain time set aside for working e.g. One semester study, then one semster work and so forth.

Each program has a minimum duration of co-op experience that needs to be filled to graduate. It's not exactly a course, but it is mandatory and you will probably have to make a report on it once you return to college.

If you pay for co-op, you paying the career center for helping you get interviews and setting you up. It's not a very large fee.

How will you work part time in addition to working full time? I suppose you can work part-time in your study periods a.k.a full time co-op work during co-op period, classes and part-time during study period.

You said that, one semester study and one semester work. Wouldn't there be studies during Co-op period ?

No studies during Co op or internship.

So what does this exactly mean ?
If my Master Program is 2year based,
1 Semester = Studies
2nd Semester = Co-op (if mandatory)
3rd Semester = Studies
4th Semester = Co-op (if mandatory)

is it so ?
