Today I got the rejection letter of my study permit, reason is "other reason: sponsorship ongoing in Canada is not approved yet". Actually my mother applied "sponsor dependant child" in Canada for me two years ago, so far it's still ongoing. In order to enter McGill in time this fall, I have to apply study permit last month and was rejected today. How can I do? Still waiting for sponsorship processing, withdraw it, or any other solution? Studying in McGill is my first priority. Any advice, please let me know, kindly appreciate your response in prior!

Don't withdraw the PR application unless you have no interest in ever becoming a permanent resident. It's not easy to get PR these days - even if complete studies in Canada.

Keep in mind that if you withdraw the PR application, there's still no guarantee the study permit will be approved.

Thank you very much! Scylla. If I keep waiting for PR, that means I have no way to apply study permit for entering university? Best regards!
